The Honey is Great

I’ve just tasted the heather honey from Tony (as I’m assuming that’s the honey “made” up at Benrinnes) and it’s really tasty.

Cheers Tony!

It Just Gets Better

My God is so good, and He is so mighty!

At our Healing Rooms prayer meeting on Monday we saw some great things and I asked the Lord to help me start doing this outside the church. And man is He quick!

At work yesterday a friend and colleague came in to my office and told me about her really sore back. She went on about it for a while and stayed in the office for about 5 minutes. All the time God was saying “there you go, it’s what you asked for”. And I bottled it!

She left and went into another office, but God kept prompting me, and eventually I did as I was told. I went to the other office and told her about the power of prayer and asked if I could pray for her. She said yes. So I went for it, and prayed for healing in the name of Jesus. She didn’t feel any different however I said healing was not always instant and she should expect to be better as time went on.

Guess what? She was healed over night! She woke up in the morning after a good nights sleep (first for a while) and was pain free. It was her husband who noticed first, seeing she was moving freely and without pain. She was grinning so much today at work….marvellous. It was my God that did that!

What a great God! He was faithful as I was obedient! Oh He just blows me away!

And then tonight I got a lovely gift from a friend. He gave me some of his home produced honey after I helped get his beehives onto land at one of our distilleries. It’s great to receive God’s love in a gift from a brother.

God moves in many ways, in healing a friend and in prompting a brother to show us some love.

Thank you Lord for another great day…..bring on tomorrow!!

Power and Authority…..

I’ve been trying to see what’s been different in my walk recently, I’ve been experiencing a “new” expression of my Christian faith in the last week.

When I came back from the Healing Room conference last week I just wanted to pray for everyone, and asked the Lord to put people across my path who needed and wanted prayer.

This has happened and I’ve been (along with my Nunsy) praying in a new confidence, expectation and assurance, in the situations that the Lord has placed me.

I think I know why this is.

I know (I now truly know) that through and in the Lord I have POWER and I have AUTHORITY.

I have the power of the Living God within me. It is His power and His might that does great things through us. It is not me! It is His power that can heal. It is His power that can remove bondages from people. The Living God and His power is within me.

And I have the authority to use that power. The Lord Jesus Himself told me to go and lay hands on the sick and heal them. The Lord Jesus Himself told me to cast out demons and set people free.

In His power and in His authority I can do mighty things. The Word tells me that I can do the things that Jesus did. In His power and in His authority you can do mighty things. The Word tells you that you can do the things that Jesus did.

I am so encouraged as I can see myself, Nunsy and others in our circle starting to realise that they have the power and the authority. And it’s not just people wanting to get involved in Healing Rooms…

One of my best mates (he’s even more of a mate, I look on him as a father figure as he is such an encourager to me!) who in his own words says “he’s not sure about healing sometimes” came forward for prayer during our church service and asked me to pray for him. He also layed hands on himself and prayed for his own healing this week. Praise God! What an encouragement! He said he still wasn’t sure about healing, but it says in God’s Word that He heals us so that was good enough for him. I just loved that, and it just encouraged me.

“It’s says it in His Word so that’s good enough for me”.

This afternoon I had bad indigestion. After looking for tablets and asking for tablets (even after all I’ve been thinking and saying about healing!!) I remembered what my mate did and said, and I just thought to myself “Vic, what are you doing?”. I put my hand on my chest and prayed for the pain to go and I had instant relief. Immediatelly the pain left, just like that.

We have power and we have authority. The Word says so. We need to remember this and use it. Praise God that we have His Word and we have brothers and sisters around us to encourage us with their testimony. And Praise God that we have Holy Spirit to gently remind us of what we have through our faith in Jesus.

Thank You Lord, Praise Your Holy Name!

What a Great Day!

I’ve been having a busy time at work lately and had been looking forward all week to today. And I was not let down….

Nunsy and the girls went shopping to Inverness before Lisa goes to the States on Monday, so I was on “tooty watch”, that’s looking after Lydia, my 30 month old grand daughter.

We went over to Macduff to the aquarium, and we had a great time. She was so great, well behaved and just a pleasure to be with. She just loved looking at all the fish and ran back and fore for ages, just staring into the tanks.

After this she wanted to look at the “big boats”, so we had a wee walk round the harbour. And she then ate so much lunch!

Not surprised that she fell asleep on the way back…

Pauline’s Cross

A good friend and member of our fellowship had her cross dedicated recently. This was a project she has been working on for ages and it just looks great…

New Olympic Sport

•September 28, 2007 • 1 Comment

I had to attend a meeting in London yesterday (technical committee of the Maltsters Association of Great Britain – and you were wondering why I’m called barley geek boy!) so flew down and back in the same day.

While getting off the plane at Gatwick I was reminded about a comedian (cannot remember who) speaking about a new sport we should have in the 2012 Olympics – the Getting Ready to Leave a Plane Sprint!

This involves seeing who can be ready to leave an aeroplane the quickest ie getting out of your seat, getting your bags out of the overhead locker, getting your coat on and then standing in the aisle! First one ready is the winner.

You have to be careful however, taking your belt off before the seatbelt sign goes out means instant disqualification. And this is where so many people fail!

I had to really control myself, I wanted so much to laugh, as all I could hear as the plane nearly came to a halt was click, click, click – I wanted to shout you are disqualified!

And getting back into Inverness was the same – click, click, click! Man it was funny.

Next time you are on a plane sit back and see who wins the Getting Ready to Leave a Plane Sprint, but watch out for those who have a false start!

Oh….What Prayer!

Just spent the most amazing evening with Nunsy and three friends, just praying. Just praying?!

Oh what a marvellous time. I’ve discovered a new freedom in my expresion of prayer and worship. Who cares what we look like when we pray and worship.

So what if we cry in awe and wonder. So what if we just keep exclaiming God’s goodness. So what if God’s prescence sends us onto our knees and faces.

And it was great to see my mate again so soon after he was healed last night….I gave him a talking to though for getting me up so early this morning (no I didn’t really).

Back With a Bang…

My God is awesome!

Myself and Nunsy were at the national conference for Healing Rooms Scotland this weekend and were just blown away by the teaching and worship, and have returned with a new sense of power and authority!

Last night a good friend, who is part of the team setting up Healing Rooms in Moray called to say he was ill and had missed work today, and could we pray for him. Could we?! He later texted to say he was so bad he couldn’t drive, so could we go round.

We went after work and he was in a bad way, “in tatters” according to him. He is really enthusiastic and fired up about Healing Rooms and I felt strongly that he was under attack from the enemy. His back and neck pain and headaches had come from nowhere, he went to bed on Sunday night (after reading a book about healing and revival) and they woke him up during the night. So we prayed a prayer of authority in the name of Jesus, bound the work of the enemy and loosed the spirit of faith and healing.

My friend just sent me a text at 6:10 this morning to say he had a great sleep and was away to work! Praise God! Oh man, I am so excited! What a fantastic God!

James 4 v 7 says “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you”

Believe what God has said in his Word and tell the enemy where to go! Believe the Word not our pains! Talk to your mountain and remove it!

At the conference myself and Nunsy were really impacted by a singer called Ilse Clark, who sang songs about the Lord and His power and might. One song called “He is Here” has just not left me since the weekend. I fell asleep last night (eventually, as I was so hyper) singing it and started singing it again after the marvellous text this morning.

Go to her MySpace and open up “You are Here”…

Blue Jays 3 – 4 Giants

•June 12, 2007 • Leave a Comment

I saw Barry Bonds hit a home run……now he has only 8 to go to become the all time record holder of home runs in the major leagues……..do I sound American?

We went to a ballgame last night and saw Toronto (the Blue Jays) take on San Francisco (the Giants). It was a great experience although I think I was the only one watching the game, everyone else was chatting, walking about or stuffing junk food down their throats (I did a bit of that too).

Some of the plays were excellent, like the home run, a catch where a guy ran into the wall and some of the throwing for run outs. I was impressed by the speed and accuracy that they all throw the ball. Earlier in the day I got a couple of mitts and balls for me and Jamie to play with when we get home.

I was not impressed with the beer or the price – $9 for less than a pint!!! Oh well, not everything is cheaper over here.
